## Summary

LucenaCoder introduces side chats: independent, project-bound conversations available picture-in-picture on Mac, Windows, and Linux, letting developers run parallel coding sessions while keeping token usage scoped and low.

## Article

LucenaOne today announced that **LucenaCoder** now supports **side chats**, giving developers a way to run multiple independent coding sessions side by side in the desktop app.

Each side chat is a completely independent conversation bound to its own project. A developer can keep one chat focused on a bug fix while another explores a refactor, each with its own context window, its own file scope, and its own history. Side chats are available **picture-in-picture** on the LucenaCoder desktop app for **Mac, Windows, and Linux**, so a second thread stays visible without leaving the primary workspace.

The feature ships for **both free and pro users**. LucenaOne's stance is that the core coding experience, including how you organize your sessions, should not sit behind a paywall. Token efficiency, the principle LucenaCoder was built on, carries through to side chats the same way it does the primary session. Each side chat scopes its own context, pulling only the files it needs rather than the entire repository. Less context in means fewer tokens consumed and a lower API bill per task.

Additionally, support for GLM 5.2 FAST via OpenRouter has been enabled. FAST pushes the model to 150+ tok/sec on specific providers. Great for getting tasks done fast. Pricing is provider dependent and shows in app when selected.
