AI security startup AIR emerged from stealth with $50 million in seed funding to help companies discover and vet the skills, plugins, and add-ons their AI agents use.

Founded by Unit 8200 veterans Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, AIR closed two seed rounds totaling $50 million, with Sequoia leading the first $10 million round and Greenoaks leading the second $40 million round. The platform discovers AI agents running inside companies, continuously vets their skills and add-ons, and blocks any that don't meet security criteria. It also offers a marketplace of pre-approved components.

AIR faces competition from Noma Security, Zenity, Astrix Security, and Operant AI, but argues its edge is continuous re-verification of an ever-changing ecosystem. The startup claims more than 20 customers, primarily in regulated industries like finance and pharma, and will use the capital to hire researchers and expand go-to-market in the U.S. and Europe.
