The $50 million round comes seven weeks after the startup launched with $10 million and will fund engineering, testing and licensing of its first barge-mounted reactor. Bluecore is designing compact water-cooled reactors that sit on floating platforms to provide roughly 10 megawatts of continuous power for ports, coastal infrastructure and AI data centers.

Silverton Partners led the round, with participation from Slauson & Co., Harlem Capital Partners, Precursor Ventures and others. The company has secured its first barge, begun regulatory engagement with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard, and is developing a non-fueled prototype at the Port of Long Beach.
