Boldr is developing an energy management platform that connects home equipment like HVAC, batteries, EV chargers and solar systems, enabling them to collectively adjust demand when the grid requires flexibility. The company works with HVAC contractors who install and service the equipment, rather than targeting homeowners directly, and has secured distribution partnerships with Bosch-owned Source 1 and Daikin.
The $5 million pre-SeriesA round will be used to expand Boldr's technology into central HVAC systems for residential and light commercial use, accelerate product development and grow its contractor network across North America. Longer-term, the company plans to extend its platform to manage other distributed energy assets as a virtual power plant.
