Founded by Michiel Voortman, Laurentiu Ciobanu, and Hidde Kehrer, Boxd provides virtual machines that let developers and AI coding agents execute code, run tests, and manage workflows in parallel.
Boxd’s platform offers snapshotting and live-forking of running machines—including memory and active connections—in under 100 milliseconds, using a simplified virtualization architecture that reduces security risks. The company will use the $2 million pre-seed to expand its team and advance its custom virtualization engine.
