Critical Munitions Group has raised $10.3 million in seed funding to automate the production of military-grade explosives. The round was led by Overmatch Ventures, with participation from Victory Six Advisors and Fulcrum Ventures. The startup plans to use the capital to scale its modular, automated energetics production platforms.
The company targets the "energetics" industry—hazardous chemicals used in missiles, artillery shells, and grenades. CEO Kevin Capozzoli said decades of consolidation have created a bottleneck in U.S. armaments production, and CMG aims to build a parallel supply chain that can quickly scale output to meet Pentagon demands for faster delivery schedules.
