Expanse raised €4.5 million ($5.3 million) in Seed funding led by Crane Venture Partners, with participation from PXN Ventures, AIP Seed, and angel investors including former DeepMind researchers. The company will use the capital to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development, and drive wider industry adoption.
Founded in 2025 by four University of Edinburgh engineers, Expanse’s software predicts AI workload resource needs before execution, helping organizations reduce over-allocation and unlock more value from existing GPU infrastructure. In one deployment, it identified nearly €6.9 million ($8 million) of idle compute capacity in a single month.
