Foldcast, a spin-off from Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), secured €160,000 from Venture Kick to move its recyclable paper mould technology toward commercial deployment. The company was founded by Fabio Amicarelli and Ena Lloret-Fritschi to reduce the environmental impact and material waste of traditional concrete construction.
The startup uses flexible paper moulds combined with design software and digital manufacturing to produce material-efficient concrete elements. The funding will support two pilot projects, development of a minimum viable product for its software, and establishment of industrial partnerships in Switzerland.
