MAASH, a Brussels-based fermentation company, has secured €12.15 million in a funding package combining equity and public financing. The round includes a €5.85 million equity raise from Ambra Capital, InvestPro, Bpifrance, Amorçage Industriel, Nordzucker and Tereos, plus €4.3 million in support from Bpifrance’s Première Usine programme and a €2 million Bpifrance loan. The funds will launch a 12 m³ demonstration plant in Carling-Saint-Avold and prepare for scale-up to 10,000 tons of annual industrial production.
Founded in 2021 by Frédéric Van Gansberghe and Gaspard Gilbert, the company develops mycoprotein as a sustainable B2B ingredient for the food industry. It also appointed Samah Garringer as CEO, effective September 2026, to lead industrial deployment. Co-founder Gaspard Gilbert will become Chief Commercial Officer and acting CFO.
