The round was led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from existing investors including NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance. MicroLub will use the $10 million to expand into US and Asian markets, grow its team, and convert customer trials into commercial agreements.

Founded in 2023 by Professor Anwesha Sarkar from the University of Leeds, MicroLub develops protein-based technologies that replicate the mouthfeel of fat using water, enabling up to 75% reduction in fat and calorie content. The company has scaled from lab to industrial production and is working with global food and ingredient manufacturers.
