The pre-seed convertible note round was led by AlphaEdison, with participation from Garage Capital, Ride Home Fund, United Talent Agency co-founder Jeremy Zimmer, and Real Ventures co-founder Jean-Sébastien Cournoyer. Founded in 2025 by David Bennahum and Nicholas Nadeau, Onix lets users pay to chat with AI versions of health and wellness practitioners, from psychiatrists to former athletes, who contribute their expertise in exchange for a 70% revenue share.

Onix trains small language models on each expert's content and stores all chat data locally on users' devices, keeping no conversation logs. The company says it does not provide medical advice and has guardrails to avoid that territory. The 10-person startup is hiring four more roles, mainly in go-to-market and sales, as it launches a paid model for iOS users.
