This approach aims to address the industry's low GPU utilization, which averages 5% to 20%, representing nearly $200 billion in wasted capacity.
Thunder Compute has already supplied compute to over 10,000 users on its own cloud and is now shifting to sell its virtualization software to enterprises and cloud providers. The $13 million round will fund hiring for systems research, engineering, and sales as the company scales its technology.
